Terms of Use

These terms explain the deal for using OfficePad (officepad.app). They are written to be read, not to bury anything in legalese. By using the site, you agree to what follows. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

1. What OfficePad is

OfficePad is a collection of free tools for working with documents, PDFs, images and text, plus editorial guides and a couple of games. Every tool runs entirely inside your own web browser. There are no accounts to create, nothing to install, and no paywall. You can read more about how the tools work on the About page.

2. Your files stay yours, and stay with you

OfficePad does not upload, receive, store or have any access to the files you open or create with it. All processing happens locally, on your device. Because of that, you are solely responsible for your own files — including keeping your own backups. OfficePad cannot recover, restore or retrieve anything you work on, because it never had a copy in the first place. How your files are (not) handled is described in the Privacy Policy.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use OfficePad lawfully and reasonably. In particular, you agree not to:

• use the tools to create, process or distribute anything illegal, or to infringe someone else's copyright, privacy or other rights;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, attack or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure;
• try to reverse the site into a different service, resell access to it, or misrepresent it as your own;
• abuse the feedback panel or leaderboard to submit spam, harassment or offensive content.

You are responsible for making sure you have the right to work with any file you process, and for how you use the results.

4. No warranty

OfficePad is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available", with no warranties of any kind. That means there is no guarantee the tools will be error-free, always available, or perfectly suited to your particular purpose. File processing happens in a wide range of browsers and devices, and results can vary. Always check the output of any tool before you rely on it — and keep the original of anything important.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, OfficePad and its creator are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site — including lost, corrupted or altered files, lost time, or any indirect or consequential loss. Since the service is free and your files never leave your device, you use the tools at your own discretion and risk. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot legally be limited.

6. Advertising and third-party services

OfficePad shows ads (via Google AdSense) and uses analytics to keep the service free and to understand how it is used. These, and any links to other websites, are governed by their own providers' terms and policies, which OfficePad does not control. See the Privacy Policy for details on data and cookies.

7. Intellectual property

The OfficePad name, site design, written guides and other original content are the property of their creator. You are welcome to use the tools and read the guides, but please do not copy the site's content wholesale or pass it off as your own. Anything you create using the tools is, of course, entirely yours.

8. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time as the site evolves. Any changes are posted on this page with a new date at the top. Continuing to use OfficePad after a change means you accept the updated terms.
